DIY Valentine’s Day Crafts

Hey, everybody! Happy Valentine’s Day! This year I decided that in addition to Valentine’s Day, I would be celebrating Galentine’s Day!

That’s right! According to the great Leslie Knope of “Parks and Recreation”:

“[Galentine’s Day is] only the best day of the year. Every February 13th my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it breakfast style.”

What more could you ask for, really? So I decided to make some quick little Valentine’s Day crafts for some of my lady friends in honor of Galentine’s Day.

These cute little vases were super fast and easy to make, and they’re the perfect size to keep on your desk at work or add to your already existing Valentine’s Day decor.

All I did for these Valentine’s Day crafts was take some mason jars and add some heart-shaped table scatter to the bottom of the jars. You could also use some red and/or pink rocks – and you only have to fill up the jar halfway – they’re mainly just to keep the flowers in place.

Next, I glued on some pink burlap ribbon around the jar, and secured it with pink baker’s twine. I topped off the Valentine’s Day (Galentine’s Day) vases with some layered hearts. You can use stickers, or simply cut out some hearts. I actually just cut out some hearts from fun patterned scrapbook paper and then glued on some foam glittery hearts.

For the flowers I just bought one bouquet of baby roses at the supermarket (~$10) and cut them down to the height of the jars. I think packing a bunch of little roses into the jars looked much cuter than a huge spread out bouquet, and it was definitely easier to transport a few smaller bouquets vs. massive amounts of flowers.

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day (or both), I hope you enjoy these cute little DIY mason jar vases!
