pizza-mezzetta5

Fall is my favorite season for many reasons: Halloween, Thanksgiving, everything pumpkin spice flavor, and of course, football! I really love getting together with my family and friends and watching my favorite football teams play every week. Because I want to spend less time in the kitchen, and more time with my family and friends, these “grown-up” pizza bites are a great dish for football season, and the perfect way to #FallForFlavor. DIY Crafts: How to Make DIY Crayons

DIY Crayons

Hey, everybody! Recently my niece had her 4th birthday, and when I asked my sister what I should get for her she said, “Coloring books and stationary.” So…I was kind of baffled by this. But apparently my niece loves coloring and writing letters. I thought just a plain coloring book and some paper would be such a boring gift, so I decided to make her some pretty DIY crayons. (more…)

DIY Patriotic Wreath from Dollar Tree Materials

patriotic-wreath-2

Okay, so I have a long history of making wreaths. I just love wreaths. They’re like my favorite way of decorating, because you just throw a wreath on the front door, and your house can totally be a mess, and everyone’s still like, “Oh, you’re so festive.” So I made this patriotic wreath that can work for all summer – from Memorial Day through Fourth of July to Labor Day – one wreath for three holidays – badda bing badda boom! And I made it all from Dollar Tree supplies, so it only cost me $7! (more…)

Easy Tiramisu Parfait with SPLENDA® Sweetener Products

sweet-swaps

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the SPLENDA® Brand. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. All opinions and reviews are my own.

Summer is finally here, and with that comes lots of barbecues, decadent fair food, and LOTS of birthdays in my family (we have 3 in August alone!). To balance out all the eating at these events I try to make smarter choices, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking further away in the parking lot at the store, and being more mindful of the ingredients I use in recipes. Today I’ll show you how I got active with some friends and reduced the added sugar in an easy tiramisu recipe by swapping out full sugar for SPLENDA® Sweetener Products. (more…)

Make a DIY Pen Holder with Mountain High Yoghurt

diy-pen-holder-tubLittle known fact about me: I used to hate yoghurt, but now I love it. I’m not sure if I had a traumatic childhood experience with yoghurt or what, but I never used to eat it. One day a couple years back I decided to try it again, and now I eat it almost every day! Today I’m talking about Mountain High Yoghurt and some cool stuff you can do with its tub once you’re done. DIY Cooking: How to Make Macaroni Salad

macaroni-saladsI’ve never been a big fan of mayonnaise-based salads. Now don’t get me wrong, I like mayonnaise on my sandwiches, on my burgers, even on my hot dogs sometimes. But too much mayonnaise in my potato salad or macaroni salad, and… I just can’t. One day though, out of nowhere, I suddenly started craving macaroni salad. But again, I didn’t want it to be too mayonnaise-y. So I decided to DIY my own macaroni. And surprisingly, the “do it yourself” aspect of the DIY was pretty simple – I created this macaroni salad pretty easily.

DIY Cooking: How to Make Pickled Beets

DIY-pickled-beets

They may be messy, and kind of weird, but I love beets. I know they’re not for everybody, but they’re a big favorite in my family. My grandma came from a Pennsylvania Dutch background and she used to make her own pickled beets all the time. I grew up eating them all the time whenever I visited her, but I don’t think I ever fully appreciated them until I was in my 20s. Lately I’ve been wanting to know how to make my own pickled beets – DIY pickled beets, if you will. The process is actually super easy (although a bit messy), and there are tons of things you can do with DIY pickled beets! (more…)

DIY Vision Boards Ideas and Tips

DIY-vision-board

Okay, so I have sort of an embarrassing story. A few weeks ago I got invited to a blogger event for Athleta UTC – it’s a fitness clothing store here in San Diego. In addition to some fun giveaways in the store, they had a free yoga session. I haven’t been working on my fitness too much lately, and it’s definitely been YEARS since I’ve done yoga, but I thought it would be fun. And it was fun… until the next day. (more…)
